Scenario
Public agency, with national-wide presence, has had videoconferencing as the primary means of communication between units for ten years. However, the agency realised the solution used was becoming obsolete and needed an innovative videoconferencing system to improve picture and sound quality transmission and make communication more efficient and agile to meet users’ mobility requirements. The adoption of solutions from different manufacturers and the lack of updates hindered the technological integration, resulting in loss of image and sound quality, compromising the communication between the various units.
Solution
PromonLogicalis videoconferencing solution innovated the client’s virtual environment with high definition image and sound. The agency headquarters was equipped with a video and audio editing studio, mixing board, special equipment for video editing in real time, including modern high-definition displays. A videoconferencing room with three high-definition screens and capacity up to 200 people was created at the government agency headquarters. In addition to this room, two videoconferencing rooms - equipped with audio control system, acoustic design, camera, screen and recording systems - were installed in Brasilia, and 26 others scattered throughout all Brazilian states. In this multipoint scenario, all units are redundantly connected with high availability. Communication between the cities is done by various types of media, including satellite circuits.
Benefits
The new virtual environment allows users from different locations and different working models (such as home office or in transit) to participate in virtual meetings with a unique experience, with the high definition image and sound of the solution implemented by PromonLogicalis - based on the Cisco-Tandberg portfolio. The solution, which simulates a face-to-face environment, also allows sharing documents in an integrated manner, at low cost operation and maintenance, eliminating costs with interstate travel, adding new services such as e-learning, and greater communication between units.
