Logicalis Group's Intact Integrated Services Expands European Operations with German Acquisition
Changes name from Intact Networks
Logicalis Group's independent services organisation, Intact Networks, has acquired the business of re:solution (Reichert Network Solutions GmbH), a Saarbrucken-based German ICT services organisation. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Simultaneously, Intact Networks has changed its name to Intact Integrated Services (IIS). According to IIS managing director, Bob Dalton, "The new name reflects the broader skills and breadth of experience that now exist within the Logicalis Group."
The resultant formation of IIS GmbH now gives channel customers access to resources based out of: Berlin; Düsseldorf; Saarbrucken; Frankfurt; Hamburg; Dortmund; and Nuremburg and provides a deployment and support capability across Northern and Central Europe.
Latest in series of deals
The transaction is the latest of a series of deals concluded as Logicalis continues its strategy of both organic growth and acquisition to augment its offering and add to the skills of its business across Europe and the USA.
This new acquisition boosts IIS' international network - within both the Logicalis Group and Logicalis' parent company, the Datatec Group, and through external partners - to over 5,000 certified ICT services resources. All external partners are certified through IIS' own INSPect programme of selection, verification and auditing.
Building on success
According to Dalton, "This event, along with a series of recent acquisitions by Logicalis in the UK and US - and the integration of their service, consulting and support capabilities within IIS - means that we can now boast a team that can offer a full set of Lifecycle Services. This ranges from design, through deployment and support, to full management, and addresses the needs of IIS's channel partners and their customers."
"As such, IIS' services capability now spans beyond the LAN/WAN infrastructure, IP Communications, Wireless and Security that have been our traditional focus, and incorporates a wide range of server-based computing and application skills, including data centre design and deployment, storage, and application development and support. In addition, we also have the ability to design, implement and support Enterprise Performance Management solutions that can support the entire ICT portfolio."
A major part of IIS' business is offering Contract Consulting Services, whereby they source, recruit and manage skilled IT professionals. Customers can look to IIS to manage a team as part of a larger project, or can select a stand-alone solution. And if simple contract support is required, IIS can fill that need with highly skilled professionals.
The success of the IIS services delivery model can be demonstrated through recent engagements for projects ranging from: a three-and-a-half-year €16m project across three continents to support delivery of the world's largest private MPLS network; through provision of a pan-European application performance managed service; to the global deployment of and support for IPT, Managed LAN, Wireless and Security - all on behalf of major European Telcos - and the building of an entire data centre infrastructure for the new European headquarters of a leading investment bank.
German managing director
The managing director of IIS GmbH is Chris Reichert, who will report to Dalton. Reichert, 29, was the youngest ever Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in the world at the time of his accreditation. According to Dalton, `he will be part of a management team leading one of the most highly skilled, advanced technology groups across Europe, but one which acts with the flexibility of a local supplier`.
"This acquisition is about much more than just expanding our capability to supply more services into the German market," emphasises Dalton. "As part of the acquisition, Logicalis has created virtual teams across the Logicalis Group, allowing for cross-border collaboration and ensuring that the German employees become part of an extended resource for best practice in customer service."
Strengthens service-based business
The acquisition of re:solution is an integral part of our services-based growth strategy, emphasises Ian Cook, CEO of Logicalis European Operations.
This latest move is also part of a strategy whereby Logicalis intends to become a dominant supplier in its sector - delivering secure, converged computing and communications infrastructure and services directly to ambitious and innovative organisations and to the channel that serves them.
Triple certification
For the second year running, IIS UK has retained its triple certification of ISO 9001, BS7799 and BS15000 and this will be rolled out in the new ISS GmbH operation over the next few months. According to Dalton, `this will ensure that IIS will be delivering quality and security best practice through our lifecycle services capability right across central and northern Europe.`
IIS success, particularly in supporting a range of Cisco resellers in deploying advanced technology solutions into the mid-market, has been recognised by Cisco Systems, in naming IIS its European Services Partner of the Year 2005.
