Our History

Headquartered in the UK, the origins of Logicalis Group go back to 1997 when Datatec acquired Logical Networks plc, a UK based networking integrator (a company that had been established since 1988). In the period 1997 to 2000, Datatec embarked on a strategy to globalise its business and made over 20 acquisitions of companies in the IT integration and services markets across Europe, North and South America and Australasia. These acquisitions formed what is today Logicalis Group. In March 2001, following a Datatec structural reorganisation, Logicalis Group became the formal statutory holding company (100% owned by Datatec) of the Logicalis operating companies, thereby establishing the Logicalis Group.

In 2003, Logicalis received an unsolicited offer for the Group's Australian and New Zealand businesses from IBM and concluded the disposal in March 2004. The disposal provided the financial flexibility to enable Logicalis Group to focus on growing its businesses and facilitate growth.

Since 2004, Logicalis has made some significant acquisitions in the UK and US markets, focusing on IT integrations solutions - and especially network and enterprise systems.

Logicalis Group now employs more than 1400 people worldwide, and work with over 5,000 corporate and public sector customers.
